Discover everything Vail has to offer

Vail at a glance

Nestled high in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Vail is home to the Vail Ski Resort, which has the distinction of being the largest ski mountain in Colorado. Skiers and snowboarders from near and far flock to Vail in the winter to enjoy their incredible 5,289 acres of terrain — over half of which is advanced runs.

There’s plenty to do in Vail no matter the time of year. Vail offers great dining, from casual family restaurants to well-known culinary destinations. Vail Village, which is a Bavarian-style ski village right at the base of the mountain, has an incredible 55 works of public art spread throughout town, designed to be a self-guided art walk for those who love art and culture.

When temperatures heat up, a world of other activities become available, like outdoor concerts at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, golf at the Vail Golf Club, and marveling at the plants and flowers at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, the world’s highest-altitude botanical garden.

If you’ve got kids in tow (or if you’re simply young at heart), you’ll want to spend a day at Epic Discovery, a mountain playground that features ziplines, a climbing wall, an aerial adventure course and the Forest Flyer alpine coaster, which sweeps you 3,400 feet down the mountain. Buckle up!
