1. Views on views
At Rodeo, grassy dunes, mature trees and the Pacific coastline are all within a stone’s throw. The outdoor deck provides a spectacular vantage point to soak in all the views. “The home’s surrounding environment is stunning, so we wanted to open up the home,” explains Lynne. Floor-to-ceiling patio doors extend the living room space out to the deck, giving the home a bright and airy feel. The design team also installed wood ceiling beams to provide dimension to the room and positioned the furnishings so that all eyes are on that spectacular patio and those stunning views.
2. Decked out(door) living
Rodeo’s outdoor living area is almost as spacious as the interior itself — and it seems even bigger with the home’s direct view of the coast. So, the Pacaso team saw an opportunity here to maximize the outdoor living area. “We wanted the outdoor living space to be comfortable and functional,” says Lynne. The team outfitted the space with outdoor chairs and tables to provide more gathering spaces, leaning into the coast as a backdrop and creating a relaxing ambiance.
3. Bigger, brighter, better
Rodeo’s dining area presented the design team with another opportunity to maximize space. “As the primary eating space, this dining room would benefit from being extended into the deck,” says Lynne. The team placed multiple large mirrors on the dining room wall to mimic the adjacent patio doors and create the illusion of a more spacious room. The mirrors also reflect the gorgeous view of the golf course into the dining room, creating a brighter and more beautiful setting inside.
4. Rest and comfort
The design team wanted to provide a space for owners to work from home. “We don’t want people to feel like they have to make sacrifices when working from their second home,” says Lynne. So, the team placed a large metal and glass desk in a bedroom, right by the patio door, where it gets ample light and a nice view of the deck — things that could serve as great productivity boosters. But it’s not just about working in a second home — the team wanted the outdoor views to be a source of relaxation, too. All Rodeo bedrooms are outfitted with king beds, making it easy to retreat from a long workday and savor the views in comfort.
5. Artfully appointed
Like other Pacaso homes, Rodeo is outfitted with all the amenities one would expect and need in a luxury second home. That’s evident in Rodeo’s kitchen. “We want the kitchen to feel familiar and just like home,” explains Lynne. Open wood shelves offer easy access to the well-stocked selection of dinnerware, drinkware and spices. Add beautiful stone countertops, a tiled backsplash and top-of-the-line appliances, and you have a well-appointed kitchen that is functional and elegant.
